You can have your cookie and eat it too!

After my diagnosis of food allergies I fell into somewhat of a deep funk. I was the girl who loved food. I would say eating out was almost a hobby for me. I mean what was dinner and a movie without the dinner? Food was definitely a passion, one I felt I could no longer indulge. How was I to attend social gatherings? Our whole society revolves around eating, birthday parties, ladies lunches, Christmas, and Thanksgiving just to name a few! How was I to cook for my family being that I don't really cook anyway? What was I going to buy at the grocery store? Could I even travel anymore (not like I felt like it anyway, but still).

Well that was almost two years ago. I finally feel as though I have a hold on my food issues. I have tried several times reaching out to doctors offices as well as other non profits in the area in order to help those who are newly diagnosed. Needless to say I was not able to help in a meaningful way. It is my goal to try to help those who suffer with this completely overwhelming process. I do not claim to be an expert, but I do know how hard it is to overcome these issues. It can be helpful to have someone who has gone through this before. Besides, the food can be expensive and sometimes not taste so good. I think of all the people who have bought a particular product to only throw it out because it tastes TERRIBLE. I have had those experiences and can share my stories.
